Three Days to See by Helen Keller.
The story
was very touching as it tells us about the wishes of Helen Keller. At first the
hair on my body stood up giving me a kind of tremor inside me and it really
touched my heart, I could not imagine the pain she had undergone. I could hear
her pains and cries in her essay, which actually misted my eyes. That essay actually reminded me of my own
problem and the wishes I had long time back, but I never thought of putting it
on the paper. I could not compare my problem with hers as it is only a minute
particle in front of her problem.
Her essay
actually gave me nostalgic perception after the fact and was completely
engrossed in thoughts and contemplation. I have seen people when gifted with
all the senses do not feel the importance. We never put an effort to think how
important our sense organs are although they are integral part of our life.
Now, I am
really dying to read more books written by her. That essay really inspired me
and made me think broader and taught me to value what we have. I don’t know how
other people would have interpreted her essay but to me she was trying to say
that we must be content with what we have and if we have perseverance and
determination in life, anybody could do any
thing
successfully in life. As
some body rightly said, “God does not tell us to do extra
ordinary things but do ordinary things extraordinarily good.” It clearly indicates that if we put in our
hard work and determination, success will sooner or later kiss our feet.
On the
contrary, the expression she used was something which really encouraged me. We under
estimate disabled people and often looked as incapable of doing anything in
life. I am sure Helen Keller would have encouraged and inspired many such
people around the world who thought they are useless and burden to others.
My feeling towards disable people is raised
and now I can surely say that irrespective of normality, everybody is equally
capable of doing anything provided you put your hard work, determination, and
perseverance in life. “Being optimist in life will pave an avenue for success.”
